IESL Founded

The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka was established as the first professional engineering body in South Asia

1968

Royal Charter

IESL received its Royal Charter, becoming a chartered professional body recognized internationally

1995

WA Chapter Established

The Western Australia Chapter of IESL was founded by pioneering Sri Lankan engineers in Perth

2000

Membership Growth

Chapter membership grew to over 100 members with regular technical events and networking sessions

2010

Industry Recognition

IESL WA gained recognition from Engineers Australia and established formal collaboration agreements

2020

Digital Transformation

Embraced digital platforms to continue serving members during challenging times with virtual events
